If your loved one is unable to care for or make decisions for themselves, the Guardianship process can help ensure their wellbeing and protection. A legally appointed guardian helps manage the personal and financial affairs of a minor, incapacitated adult, or individual struggling with mental health issues according to their best interest. Norton Estate Planning provides you peace of mind knowing that your loved ones will be cared for according to their wishes if they can no longer do so themselves.
Guardianship Should Be...
The Bottom Line
Our Guardianship services are right for…
During this free consultation, we’ll discuss your individual needs and help you understand the Guardianship process to determine if our firm would be a good fit for your needs.
During a hearing, we will meet with a judge for approximately 30 minutes to go through the formal steps of appointing the guardian. On average, it takes 30-40 days to receive a hearing date with a judge.
After the hearing, we’ll review the authority of the court-appointed guardian, the biennial duties required under the law, and provide instructions on proper financial management and recordkeeping.
Once your guardianship process is complete, we’ll always be here to help you with any questions you have or support you need.
